Eastern Colorado is a great place to find that Trophy Whitetail that has eluded you for years. With very little hunting pressure and glassing opportunities up to several miles at times our Whitetail are easier to spot. One of Adventures Wild’s hunters harvested a 181” B&C 9 pointer during the 2006 rifle season! Tags: Colorado uses the preference point system which allows you to obtain a point every that you do not draw. Rifle tags can be drawn with 0 – 12 preference points depending on the unit all archery tags can be drawn with 0 points. We are currently leasing about 400,000 acres of private property in eastern Colorado in 13 units just for our hunters. Guaranteed Landowner Tags: Landowner tags are available but limited and will be on a first come first serve basis. Rifle tags will run a $1000 - $1500 and the Muzzleloader tags will run about $750. How many and the units there in will not be known until about the second week of July. Rifle Hunts: Rifle hunts will range from being able to draw tag every year to units that can be drawn with 4-6 preference points. Eastern Colorado has 2 separate rifle hunts that will be 10/25 – 11/ 4 and 12/1 – 12/14 in 2008 not all the units have the December rifle hunt. Most units will be limited to 2 hunters per hunt with 1 or 2 exceptions due to acreage and Deer populations. Most hunts will be all spot and stalk hunts with some tree stands and ground blinds being used in certain situations. Muzzleloader Hunts: The season dates will be 10/11-19 in 2008 just prior to the first rifle hunts. Hunts are limited but tags can be drawn with 0-4 preference points. Currently, 2-3 Landowner permits are available each season for $750. This hunt gives you the first crack at that Monster Buck. Most hunts will be spot and stalk. Archery Hunts: 2007 was another great year for the archer and we expect 2008 to be no different. This will be one of most exciting bow hunts that you will ever experience. The quality of the bucks seen on these hunts has been incredible and most tags can be obtained with 0 preference points due to the lack of local bow hunters and most all of eastern Colorado being private property. You will certainly see some big bucks and maybe with just a little luck you will get an arrow in one. Most hunts will be spot and stalk with some treestands and ground blinds being used mostly for whitetails. Hunt Availability: Hunts are available on a limited basis each year. Adventures Wild clients harvested 11 Muley bucks and 2 Whitetail buck over 180” B&C / P&Y in 2007 and in the last 8 years have harvested 96! All license applications are due by April 1st, please see the Professional Application Services on our website or give us a call!
